We are proud to announce the 2009 Salomon Extreme Freeride Championships in Taos has been confirmed as a Freeride World Qualifier event!

In order to allow freeriders who are not qualified for the Freeride World Tour to participate and score points, the Pro Freeriders Board elected existing international events to be part of the Freeride World Qualifier. This year's event in Taos allows riders to collect points in the Freeride World Ranking, a unique ranking list for both the Freeride World Tour and the Freeride World Qualifier events. Riders from the Freeride World Tour and the Qualifier will therefore climb up and down the ranking list throughout the season. Finally the three best results will count to score the 2009 Freeride World Champions who will be crowned in Verbier after the Xtreme.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Taos will not be an IFSA competition this season. Instead it will employ the judging standards that slightly differ from similar types of big-mountain competitions sanctioned by the IFSA. Our criteria is sanctioned by the Freeride World Tour, and is used at all FWT events as well as FWT qualifying events. Please review our judging criteria to completely understand how your run will be scored. Should you have any questions before, during or after the competition, the event organizers will be happy to address them
